How did I wind up in this predicament
Feel like all my bones and ligaments
Are broken and ripped to shreds
And all the shit inside my head has me
Cold and alone, it’s not the first time I’ve felt far
I’ve felt far from home, and these shoes
Maybe they’ll finally take me somewhere new
Miles away from anything that’s been bringing me down
I’ve seen these ups and downs
And how I’ve really grown to hate this town
Flat on my back cause there’s a kink in my neck
From the way that I slept
It’s been a long one, these ups and downs
This road will leave you stranded if you let it
You’ll get lost inside the genetics of poetics
Wondering when and where, exactly how you said it
You’ll become so cold and numb and infected
This road wasn’t intended for a passerby
So if you intend on veering, let it pass you by
I’ve given everything, tossed and turned every dream
Dragged myself through misery, maybe this will save them
And I desperately hope, these words keep you afloat
Because I’m drifting, and this life is all I know
