| Hear now the tale of an ancient girl
| Who would die the most gruesome death
| As she set out to venture the world
| On a foolish and dangerous quest
| She walked alone, bound by her word
| To the boy who had died in her arms
| That she would bring back from Hades his soul
| So that he might live to grow old
| The girl travelled far, into the west
| For the rumours that she had heard
| Spoke of a lake on a mountain crest
| Which led straight to the bowels of the earth
| The journey went on for countless days
| 'Til at last, she had reached her goal
| Then she plunged into the infernal waves
| And a chill went through her soul
| The girl looked around and cowered in fear
| Because of the horror she beheld
| Thousands of corpses were floating near
| Rotting away with a putrid smell
| Her senses gone numb, the girl thought she saw
| A face watching her with lifeless eyes
| As she kept staring in terrified awe
| Something below dragged her down from the light
| Down
| Down
| Down below
| Down
| Down
| Down
| Down
| Down
| Down throught the mud, and further still
| She was descending like a rock
| The girl thought she had only moments to live
| When all of a sudden, a cave opened up
| Now she could breath, what good did it do
| She was surrounded by nightmares
| Demons were frolicking all around
| Seeming to be in some kind of trance
| Dance
| Dance
| How they danced
| Spinning around
| Dance of the dead
| Then he came out of the shadows
| The lord of the underworld
| And he strode through the hall
| While addressing the girl
| So you think you’ve come for Hades
| To bring back a soul
| But that place is no more than myth
| That boy will never grow old
| Then, the girl despaired
| She looked to leave the cave
| The lord told her, there’s no way out
| But you’re more than welcome to stay
| Suddenly, something happened within her soul
| It wanted to leave her body
| You are mine, declared the lord
| Let it go, surrender
| Sing out your soul to me
| And so, she sang
| The girl spun around, losing control
| She felt weightless, just like air
| Then she was floating across the hall
| Headed straight for the master’s chair
| Such was the end of her life
| Her soul was consumed by the lord of the dead
| Thus would her body stay out of the light
| Dancing as one of the demons instead
| Dead
| Dead
| Stone cold dead
| Dead
| Dead
| Dead
| Dead
| Dead |
